All Whanau are welcome to visit our learning hub!

Here is our Class Korowai made of paper feathers. Each student has written a statement about how they would like Room 11 to look and feel like. They also wrote about Mrs T and what they expect her to be doing as their teacher.

On either side of the Korowai is a heart representing the Aroha brought to our class through our Whanau and Families. Each drawing is a portrait of who lives in our home. We welcome everyone into our classroom to come and see what we are learning.

Using our Google Drive for the first time - woohoo we are learning fast!

Watching how to log in and where to find the drive on the landing page is very important. Ethan is patiently teaching Janessa.

Teaching on to another student is a great way to revise your own skills and share with others in a collaborative manner.

Each student is gradually learning how to login and type their password into the computer. It is quite different from a tablet. Mrs T is very impressed with the way everyone is taking care of the laptops and listening to lots of instructions!

Connor is bringing his own device to school. Here is the Certificate that shows me he has gone to a BYOD Drop in session with his parents. At these sessions, they learn to login and use the Google apps for education (GAFE) and what the Student Landing page looks like.

R11 have some very important jobs to do before school!

Theo, William and Charlie are putting out one of 4 soccer goals every morning when they arrive at school. Thank you boys! They are part of a group of volunteers from our class who do this every day before school and put them away again at the end of lunch time. We are so lucky that the PTA bought these for us last year. Soccer is very popular at our school!

Relaxing at the end of our first full week of Year 3!

We have had a busy week at school with some very hot days, with swimming and bike track thrown in as well. We eat our lunch under the trees in the shade with all the other Year 3 and 4 children who are part of the Kowhai Whanau. Here we are catching our breath:

Mrs Trembath teaching us water safety!

No goggles today so we can try and get used to water in our eyes as well as floating on our back for long periods of time. We practiced rolling over onto our back when we are in trouble in the water. Even skilled pool swimmers can get into trouble in the sea! Do your children know what to do if they fall into deep water or get out of their depth in the open water?
Here is a link to Drowning Prevention Auckland on how to fit a lifejacket and other water safety videos like Fishing off the Rocks.

This is Mrs Willmoth with me today! She is teaching R11 when I am on Leadership time. Sometimes it will be a morning and sometimes an afternoon.

This is Team 3 from Left to right:
Miss Robertson teaches in R12 on Wednesday
Mrs Turner teaches R12 on all the other days
ME
Miss Bycroft teaches R13 everyday!

Welcome to R11 and Team 3 in the Kowhai Whanau!

Hello everyone I hope you have had a wonderful holiday and are all ready for the beginning of 2020! Can I please ask that you put the Sunnyhills etap app on your mobile phones and check the Kowhai notices each evening so that you know what is happening each day at school for us. I try to put it all in there in advance.

Here are the core teachers of each Year 3 class - Myself, Mrs Trembath, R12 Mrs Turner and R13 Miss Bycroft.

Swimming is Tuesday and Thursday - please bring togs, rash shirt, cap, goggles, towel in a swimming bag and remove earrings . Watches can be left in the classroom.

Bike track day is Wednesday for R11.
